Shim for satellite gear, intended for use in the differential of classic vehicles, including a Citroën 11CV. The ring has a fixed thickness of 3.5 mm and fits in an assembly with limited space and defined tolerances. It supports adjustment of axial clearance between satellite gears and their carrier. This supports uniform load transfer in the drivetrain and limits noise caused by misalignment. The shim is used during service or overhaul of the differential to restore correct internal geometry. It allows precise positioning of gears relative to each other and to surrounding components inside the housing.
