The tappet bush is a component in the cylinder head of the engine of a Citroën 2CV. The bush guides the movement between camshaft and valve train. It transfers the force from the camshaft to the tappet and assists in opening and closing the valves. The part keeps correct alignment and limits wear between the moving parts. The bush works together with valves, tappets, pushrods and rocker arms. Proper fit and material selection support the function of the valve system and contribute to reliable engine operation under changing running conditions and mechanical loads over the service life of the vehicle.
